A change of scenery and perspective is good for you and brings fresh ideas - especially at work. That's why I was immediately hooked when the opportunity arose to spend a day at the Vals-Jochtal ski school to get to know our customers' work processes better and gain a personal impression of the processes on site.
After a relaxed journey by train and Tesla, I was welcomed with open arms at the ski school office and warmly greeted by ski school manager Günther Mayr and office assistant Andjela.
The first thing I did was get out into the fresh air and into the heart of the colourful ski school activities. Together with Günther, I walked to the sunny, large children's area, which is just a stone's throw from the ski school office, and was able to find out exciting details about the organisation and running of the children's ski courses and the rich history of the ski school.
Back in the office, we took advantage of a quiet moment to talk about our newsletter editorial plan developed especially for ski schools and to quickly select the topics for the first campaigns with which the ski school will soon start newsletter marketing.
We were also able to talk in person about the website optimisations I had made for the ski school in summer 2023 and discuss further ideas on how to improve the booking experience for guests and how video elements could improve the presentation of the offer.
After a hearty lunch with my new work colleague Andjela, I was visited by the ski instructors Lydia, Pauli and Christoph, who are in charge of the ski school's social media presence. We plunged into a creative brainstorming session for new Instagram campaigns, reels and special ideas for interesting social media content - a very exciting exchange for both sides!
I spent most of the day with Andjela, a young and open-minded employee who let me look over her shoulder at the day-to-day business in the office and told me a lot about her tasks and responsibilities.
The insight into the daily work of the ski school employees as well as the personal and direct exchange on site was a valuable experience for me and gave me an important change of perspective. I would like to thank Günther, Andjela and the entire ski school team once again for being so open to my visit and for taking the time to share their experiences with me.
