Software installation at the Lötschenpass at 2690m

A very special type of program installation was carried out by our customer representative Manuel Rehak at the Lötschenpass Hut in Switzerland at the end of August.

The hut owner, Beat Dietrich, faces a unique challenge – how can he optimize the management of his idyllic mountain hut? Fortunately, he was already a customer of WS SPORTS, a company specializing in software solutions for outdoor and recreational facilities. However, his requirements were unique, as the hut is perched at an impressive altitude of 2690 meters and nestled in a breathtaking mountain landscape.

To meet this extraordinary need, WS SPORTS turned to Waldhart Software, a company known for its tailor-made solutions. In close collaboration with Beat Dietrich, they developed a software solution that was perfectly tailored to the requirements of hut management. But that wasn't all – the real challenge was to implement this solution at such a remote high altitude location.

And so, Manuel Rehak, an experienced customer representative from Waldhart Software, embarked on an epic journey. Over seven hours of train travel, a cable car ride, and finally an almost three-hour hike brought him to his destination – the Lötschenpass Hut. The effort was significant, but the reward was even greater. The hut majestically stood amidst the mountain world, surrounded by absolute tranquility and untouched nature.

The installation of the tailor-made software solution was a technical adventure in itself. However, Manuel Rehak mastered the challenge with flying colors. "The location is hard to put into words," he raves. "The silence up here and the breathtaking mountain scenery are simply overwhelming." His radiant smile speaks volumes about the enthusiasm and satisfaction he felt during this unique installation.

The Lötschenpass Hut itself is not only a hub for hikers and mountaineers but also a piece of living history. For centuries, the Lötschen Pass has served as a route for mountain hikers and traders, making it a significant part of the alpine heritage of the region. The hut adds another chapter to this history by offering travelers a warm accommodation and a welcome resting place.
