We Are Developers World Congress: Inspiration and Motivation for our work

Visit Europe's biggest developer conference, discover the latest trends, and have plenty of time for networking—all in one trip? Our development team was eager to do just that! So, we hopped on a train to Berlin for the We Are Developers World Congress!

The modern capital of Germany, along with its trendy residents, greeted us with perfect weather and temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius. Luckily, the conference had an outdoor area with its own stages and exciting talks on leadership, work organization, and other soft skills

Inside the halls, the numerous presentations on the various stages were all about AI (Artificial Intelligence) and innovations in various fields like web development, databases, and different frameworks for both frontend and backend development. Additionally, there were exhibition stands from many large and well-known tech companies (Intel, Nvidia, TYPO3, Docker, Hetzner, Postman, Atlassian, and many more), providing us with great opportunities for networking and exchange.

“My heart is human, my blood is boiling, my brain IBM”? We haven't reached the level described in Styx's 1983 hit “Mr. Roboto” just yet, but the conference once again showed us the importance of AI in all areas of development and how we can use existing tools in our work to efficiently handle repetitive and monotonous tasks, thus freeing up more time for creative work.

Another highlight of the conference was definitely the evening program: to our surprise, we got to experience a Daft Punk performance from the front row! On the other evenings, we enjoyed some culinary delights and even took advantage of the beautiful weather for a quick dip at the Weißensee beach.

On Saturday, we headed back home. But before that, we had some time for sightseeing and visited the Reichstag with Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, and the Berlin “Story Bunker”, which serves as a powerful and cautionary reminder of the horrific years of World War II.

We left Berlin with a wealth of great memories, inspiration and motivation for our work on better, more performant, and modern software, and as an even better team that supports, motivates, and learns from and for each other.
