Company trip to the Salzkammergut

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Waldhart Software we went to the Salzkammergut to celebrate our successes in the past years.

On the way to Lake Hallstatt, we made a stopover in the city of Salzburg after about 2 hours, where we discovered the different facets of the city with a city guide. During lunch at the Gablerbräu in the old town - one of the oldest inns in the city of Salzburg - we let the impressions of the city tour sink in and fortified ourselves with a selection of different salads.

Our actual destination - Obertraun on Lake Hallstatt - was still just under 1.5 hours' drive away after the extended lunch. Because of the rainy weather, we spent the rest of the afternoon in our two luxury chalets at the Dormio Resort or walking and exploring the idyllic area. We ended the evening at the charming Gasthof Höllwirt in Obertraun. Some of us were already excited and also a bit nervous regarding the upcoming action day including tandem paragliding!

After a restless night with lightning and a thunderstorm that did not want to end, we had to admit to ourselves that nothing could come of our paragliding and hiking plans. While consulting in our XXL living room, we decided to visit the Kaiservilla in Bad Ischl as an alternative program. In Lore's inn at the Schwarzensee we were cooked home-style after a short walk. For our action fans, we reserved the track at the Ebensee kart hall at short notice in the afternoon, where we were rewarded for our racing successes with a barbecue buffet.

The weather gods were kind to us on the last day and we were able to enjoy the crossing with the old wooden ship from Obertraun to Hallstatt in perfect weather. In the morning we explored Hallstatt with its historic buildings, stocked up on our salt supplies and took a spin on the pedal boat. At the Rudolfsturm restaurant, which we reached partly on foot and partly by Salzberg cable car, we enjoyed our lunch with a spectacular view. At the Hallstatt Salt Worlds, we embarked on a journey to the origins of salt production, which began 7,000 years ago, and skillfully whizzed down the miners' slides.

Obertraun we reached again with the "Zille" and after a refreshment in the lake we made our way back home to Pfaffenhofen with many beautiful memories in our luggage.
