A breath of fresh air this summer: our 2026 interns

Three interns, two departments and plenty of hands-on experience: Richard, Joel and Anna spent the summer getting a taste of what it’s like to work at Waldhart Software. We asked them how they found their time with us.

To help you get to know the three of them a bit better, we asked them to take part in a mini-interview and asked them how they found their time with us.

Richard Zallinger

Richard had already done a one-month placement with us last year and chose to do the same again this summer: over a longer period, he mainly worked on the backend of the new WS Sports – from minor issues to solving major problems and developing new features.

Seeing his own solutions being put to use in the production system was very motivating.

As Richard is planning to study software engineering, he would like to work in development again during a future internship – he found the work in third-level support particularly exciting.

Joel Walder

Joel wanted to gain practical experience in software development – and was really put to the test in the process: he helped with TYPO3 upgrades for client websites and handled tickets for both the front-end and back-end. He particularly appreciated the variety in his tasks.

It wasn’t always the same tasks; instead, I was able to work on a variety of topics and, as a result, learn new things in different areas.

Along the way, Joel was also able to significantly improve his skills in working with AI and gained valuable experience with Angular and TYPO3. If he were to do another internship, he would love to get stuck into precisely these areas again.

Anna Leiter

Anna was familiar with Waldhart Software from her holiday job as a ski instructor at the Sölden-Hochsölden Ski School and was keen to try her hand at marketing. During her time with us, she helped prepare social media posts, drafted newsletters independently and gained her first experience in creating website content.

My work was actually put into practice – so I didn’t feel like I was working in vain.

She was particularly surprised by how many new ideas the internal meetings generated. As her main interest had been marketing from the very start, she is completely satisfied with her tasks – the flexible working hours even left her some time for holidays.

We would like to thank our interns for their support over the summer and wish them every success in their future studies. Perhaps we’ll see you again soon!
